Stripes & Florals Go Together

When creating your country porch look, don’t be afraid to mix striped and floral patterns in the fabric. Even include plaids and checks to your look.

Choose one color as your base color, which should be the main one. But then add pieces like throw pillows or table covers with just a touch of that color. If you pick blue and white stripes for your chair cushions, adding in pink or green floral prints can really add charm to your look.

Then you can add potted plants of lavender or pink flowers. Live flowers in the form of bouquets or potted plants make your country porch look more inviting. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy fresh flowers?

If you are into country primitive, you can certainly carry that theme through to your country porch. Imagine setting the dark marroon and navy blue of a plaid cushion cover on a white wicker settee. A stunning country porch effect. Fresh flowers and wood accent pieces complete the look with charm.

So don’t be afraid to mix things up a bit. Adding your own personality to your country porch will make it more inviting to both you and your guests.

It surprises me how many people won’t mix stripes, checks or prints. In the same color families they look stunning together! Great advice!
