Plan a Summer Tea Party on Your Country Porch

Written by on May 24, 2012 in Entertaining on a Country Porch with 2 Comments

Your country porch, patio, deck or backyard area is an ideal setting for a tea party. Both evoke an era of relaxed living and lazy summer afternoons. So they just naturally go together. Plan a summer tea party that involves fun and unusual foods along with fruit teas.

This doesn’t need to be a big gathering. In fact, a smaller more intimate gathering of friends and family makes for a charming way to enjoy a summer afternoon. Your country porch look is set and ready for the relaxation of outdoor living, so extend that living to include a tea party.

The foods you want to serve at a tea party should be small and handle without utensils. Your guests won’t be coming for a sit-down meal, so you want them to be able to nibble their foods easily. Finger foods that can be set on the side of the saucer are best.

Our friends at Whimsical Teapots and Teacups are busy sharing with us all about tea time. They have put together a wonderful collection of articles, tips and ideas for sharing tea time, including how to brew the perfect pot of tea. Be sure to check out some of their recipes for finger sandwiches and biscuits that work great for your next tea party.

When you think of country porch living, you naturally think of a relaxed and inviting world. So plan a summer tea party that benefits from the great look of your country porch. Your guests will be delighted and you will enjoy the rewards of your country porch look.
