Graduation Parties on Your Country Porch

Written by on May 10, 2012 in Entertaining on a Country Porch with 1 Comment

This is the time of year when young people are graduating from high schools and colleges all across the country. If you have one of those, consider a graduation party on your country porch. The weather is usually conducive to an outside event, so using your own porch, deck or patio makes a perfect setting.

Our friend Handee Mandee has come up some great ideas for how to present the food for your summer graduation party. She makes use of a basic cooler to give you great ideas for keeping the food cool as well as making it look interesting and appetizing.

Then consider your centerpiece for a great graduation party. What goes better with a country porch look than vintage? And Handee Mandee has come to the rescue again. Grad d├ęcor fit for Young Adults has wonderful ideas and suggestions for ways you can create vintage centerpieces that work so well for a graduation party.

Our personal favorite is to combine old school books with a globe. The world is now open to our new grads and we love the idea of combining school books from the past of study with the globe of new adventures awaiting. Be sure to check out Mandee’s suggestion for how to create the look of old school books if you don’t have any lying around. We love that suggestion.

Your country porch (deck, patio, backyard) makes an idea setting for a graduation party. So start planning that all so important celebration for the graduate in your family. You will end up with a welcoming and wonderful event.

Oh! Handee Mandee loves Country Porch World! Thanks so much for the kind words. Graduation is a big deal and should be celebrated — but outside on a porch, patio or deck is even better!
